Yesterday I saw the world for the first time
hard to believe I understand
Imagine being me
Discovering this hour glass of sand
Time began in an instant
God existed I could not miss it
The trees stood tall before my very eyes
Picasso and his brush
Painted the blue sky’s
I felt the wind blow
Over the hairs on my arm
A chill to my spine
Imagine goosebumps
For the very first time
Dark clouds hid the sun
But I could not know it
Because consciousness had just begun
Cool droplets of rain
Fell from above
Soaked from head to toe
Sickness crept in
And I didn’t even know!
A cough violent and aching
A large crash
The ground began shaking
Thunder and Lighting bolted with a boom!
Started on my tows
Such sensation so soon!
Swirling winds tossing me aside
Where could I run?
The shelterless horizon stretched so wide
Vulnerable and scared
Yet thrilled and consumed
Confused yet alive
A moment not to be ruined
No destination
But the present
Thank the lord
For such a present
No concept of yesterday
Knowledge of tomorrow
This moment I existed
No faith needed I borrow.
