She found me on a cloudless night
With the stars glimmering in her eyes
Life seemed just right
She reached for my hand
What she was getting was my heart
I’ve offered it before
Yet today I am scared as a child
This woman drives every inch of me wild
I think about her when all I need is sleep
I dream about her then wake and often weep
On this cloudless night
When for the first time in months
Love is in sight
I remember it is just a dream
No longer does the sparkle in her eyes gleam
The world took her away from me
I was down on one knee
It was the perfect moment
Clear it became to me, that when she dreamed at night
It was often of me
But I must let her love go
It seems it will always grow
But she is gone, and loneliness is once again my foe.
