Like a blind-man that prays, to see what is out of sight
I am good but evil sometimes seems to be winning the fight
We all need hope and love if we are to hold on tight
But what of the apathetic without either? We all know the type

There’s a darkness upon you that’s flooded in light
It wears, it washes, it breeds such spite
You come and you go, you do, and don’t know, what is right
There’s a light in the darkness that sometimes shines too bright
A glimmer in your absence, that keeps a soldier of good-will, up nights

There was a boy, and he had a dream
But one day he stopped believing it
The next, he couldn’t conceive seeing it
Like a star set to shine, until the world pressed rewind, this good fight of ours continues to grind

There’s a darkness within me that flees from the light
A flame within me that burns out of sight
Possibility in the morning, regret in the night
The memory of a memory where everything would exceed alright
Knocked breathless by the weight of the world, each and every fight

There was a boy
And he lost his dream
But he hoped to one day find it, and sure wouldn’t mind it, so won’t you hope with me tonight?

There’s a darkness within me that is replaced with light
A dream of a dream that knows not wrong or right
The good he seeks is for both you and I, flooded with light under the darkness of a night’s sky

There was a boy
And he had a dream
One day he will be it, because once more he can see it, there’s a light inside of him and he has set his mind on freeing it!
